As The Entity feeds on the emotions of both Survivor and Killer alike, trapping its victims within an endless cycle of Trials is basically a never-ending feast. But what happens when there’s nothing left? Though Survivors and Killers are trapped within the Trials for what equates to all eternity, their emotions are finite. When a Survivor loses all hope, or a Killer loses their drive to hunt, they cease to be of use to The Entity. That’s where the Void Realm comes in...
Basically, the Void Realm serves as a junkyard of sorts, filled with those that have been entirely drained of emotion. Little is known about these Haunts and their intentions, but players will have the opportunity to get closer to them than ever before in the Haunted by Daylight in-game Event.
As revealed by Dead by Daylight’s Creative Director Dave Richard, the idea for the Void Realm stemmed from an eerie thought. “We wanted to create a place that evokes the concept of a fate worse than an endless cycle of death and suffering,” explains Richard. “Wouldn’t it be horrifying if the only way really escape the Trials was to be completely drained of all emotions, only to end up in another nightmare?”
