Shane Wiigwaas Is Dead By Daylight’s Latest Survivor

·

Growing up in the Glass River First Nation, Shane was intrigued by the concept of justice. While some believed it revolved around punishment, his belief was that justice centered around the concept of restoring balance.

This foundational philosophy drove him to law school, where he grew into a capable and confident defense attorney, advocating for First Nations clients. Though his efforts saved many from unnecessary jail time, there was one case that plunged his path into darkness.

And sadly, it was one that hit close to home.

TRIAL & FOG

After his closest cousin, Derek, was accused of murdering a police officer, Shane knew in his heart that something was wrong. Unfortunately, there was no evidence to support Derek’s story. Worse yet, it sounded entirely preposterous. How could a jury be expected to believe that the officer vanished in a cloud of black fog?

Yet Derek was adamant. Shane had never known his cousin to lie, let alone resort to violence. Nothing added up, but he knew that dwelling on the fog would hinder his cousin’s credibility. When the prosecution laid a plea deal on the table, Shane recommended they take it, suspecting a guilty verdict was inevitable.

Unfortunately, Derek refused. He maintained his innocence, even if the odds were stacked against him, and dismissed Shane as his attorney. What followed was a life sentence without parole, and a devastated community.

THE ROAD AHEAD

Embittered by the outcome, haunted by nightmares of his cousin rotting in a cell, and ostracized for the perceived betrayal, Shane hopped on his motorcycle and took to the road. He never stayed in one place for too long. Though the courtrooms were behind him, he remained dedicated to helping those in need, sharing Derek’s story to anyone willing to listen.

His travels brought him to the Pacific Northwest, where he learned that a young man named Jake Park had disappeared in the nearby woods. As the story went, he too had been swept into a cloud of black fog. The lead was too enticing to pass up, and Shane set out into the forest in search of answers...

But he was never seen again.
