There’s no time like Halloween, and Dead by Daylight is the place to be during the spookiest season of the year. To celebrate, the Haunted by Daylight Event has returned, once again beckoning players into the nightmarish unknown of the Void Realm.
If you’re curious to learn more about the Void Realm, revisit our previous explanation here . Basically, the Void Realm is a mysterious Realm that serves as The Entity’s junkyard , filled with the discarded husks of those drained of their emotions. It’s a bleak and chilling place, a reflection of the dark fate awaiting those within The Fog.

The Void Awaits
The first thing players will notice is the visual update overtaking The Entity’s Realm, tainting it with the otherworldly darkness of the Void Realm. The metamorphosis has bled into familiar objects, altering the appearance of Generators and Hooks alike.
Several Void Pumpkins have also appeared throughout the Map and begging to be stomped into oblivion. In the spirit of trick or treat, doing so will either grant Haste, Hindered, or nothing at all – though each interaction will provide Bloodpoints.
Upon loading into a match, players will be able to access the Void Realm, with a portal instantly spawning at the beginning of the Trial . To open additional portals, Killers and Survivors can collect Void Energy by completing various in-game actions:
- Collecting Void Orbs
- Interacting with Pumpkins
- Repairing Generators
- Stunning or Blinding the Killer
- Downing a Survivor
- Hooking a Survivor
Once they have collected enough Void Energy to open a Portal, they can transfer Void Energy into an unstable Rift to open a portal. Any Portal will remain open for the duration of the Trial.
While inside the Void Realm, Killers will be able to use their Powers, an upgrade that was highly requested. In addition, Killers will also have no Terror Radius while inside The Void Realm, so consider yourself warned. To make matters even more perilous, Survivors will be Exhausted and become Broken whenever they’re in The Void while injured.
Killers can also examine the HUD to see whether a Survivor is currently in The Void Realm and plan their hunt accordingly. Note that there are no Generators there, but there are Hooks. Whenever a Survivor is Hooked in the Void Realm, they will be teleported to a Hook on the Map.
Aside from the lack of Generators, the Void Realm now contains many familiar interactable objects: Pallets, Breakable Walls, Lockers, and Chests.
Void Items
A new addition to this Event is the ability to gain new Items and Abilities by depositing Void Energy into a crafting station called a Void Well. By doing so, Survivors will craft a Void Crystal while Killers will gain the Captured Haunt Ability.
A Void Crystal can be thrown to create a burst that obscures visibility and covers Scratch Marks, making it the perfect way to shake the Killer.
A Captured Haunt harnesses the Power of those discarded within The Void, manifesting as a deadly projectile that can injure and cause Survivors to scream.

A good Halloween costume is essential, and our characters never fail to deliver in that department. From October 17th to November 7th, head to the in-game store and check out the Tricks And Treats Collection and The Void Collection, featuring new Outfits for Sable Ward, Mikaela Reid, The Plague, Kate Denson, Adam Francis, and Zarina Kassir.
You’ll also be able to purchase previous Outfits and Items from the Tricks And Treats , The Void , and Midnight Grove Collections. Please note that these Collections are seasonal and available for a limited time, so don’t delay if you’re looking to add these to your wardrobe.

Which child hasn’t wished that Halloween candy hauls came every night? In honor of that sweetly naive wish , we’re coming prepared with the next best thing: daily login rewards.
