Dead by Daylight Community Cups: An Update

·

Several months have passed since the launch of the Dead by Daylight Community Cups, and we’re looking forward to the fourth Cup on February 11th. We’d like to thank everyone who has taken the time to sign up and participate. It really has been an exciting ride so far!

We’ve had the chance to review the feedback we’ve received from the community, and we plan on making a few adjustments ahead of the upcoming Cups.

Here is a glimpse at some of the changes you can expect moving forward.

WIN CONDITIONS & RULES

On the Killer end, we’ve been working hard on developing a clear Tournament win condition that reflects and rewards a strong performance. As such, we have decided to move away from Escapes and Kills and instead will focus on Hook Stages. Teams will now earn points whenever the Killer places a Survivor on a Hook, and whenever a Hooked Survivor enters a new Hook Stage. In the event of a tie, we will default towards the number of unrepaired Generators as a primary tie breaker. A complete breakdown of our rules, including secondary tiebreaker measures, can be found on our Battlefy tournament page.

MAPS & KILLERS

As the Community Cups evolve, we’re looking to fine tune the experience to provide a more enjoyable competitive environment in Dead by Daylight. Therefore, we have rebalanced the current pool of Maps, as well as the Killer selection offered during our Cups. We have also added in additional rarity levels for items in the earlier stages of play. We encourage you to check out the details in the link provided below.

RECORDING TRIALS

To further maintain competitive integrity and accurate results, we will now require a Survivor and Killer from each team to record their matches. Should that recording player disconnect for whatever reason, their teammates will be responsible for providing highlights (recording of less than <30s) to Battlefy. All other players in the match will be responsible for screen grabs and highlights, should proof of specific actions, disconnections, or bugs be required. Battlefy will publish materials related complying with this rule which will be found on our landing page.

PING

Bad ping is the bane of online gamers, especially in a heated high-stakes match. It can be caused by many factors, including players attempting to join matches on a different server. To maintain competitive integrity, we will be implementing a new rule that sets a maximum ping where anything over will be subject to penalization.

It will be up to players to flag and report ping-related issues directly to Battlefy. Offending players will receive 1 warning, with an ejection for repeat violations. We will be eliminating the previous geo-restriction mandates so long as players can adhere to this maximum ping. We strongly recommend players to play in their home regions to prevent any risks associated with ping.

For more information and complete details on these changes, we invite you to check out our Battlefy page at https://battlefy.com/deadbydaylight-communitycups. All the latest changes and updates will be posted there!

We hope these updates will continue to elevate the Dead by Daylight Community Cups, and rest assured that we will be monitoring feedback closely.
See you in The Fog!
