Dead by Daylight’s 2v8 Game Mode is back, bringing two new Killers into the mix – The Ghost Face and The Oni. This iteration also introduces a new Survivor item – The Fog Crystal – which can be used as a disruptive tool while in chase.

2v8 Adds New Killers, The Ghost Face and The Oni
In one bloodied hand is silence, tension, and the deep breath before terror strikes. In the other is chaos, rage, and the raw power of unrelenting fury. In this iteration of 2v8, both fists will strike together, a combination that weaves deftly across the horror spectrum.
It’s fitting that one of the quietest Killers arrives alongside one of the loudest, but that’s exactly the sort of disorienting chaos in which they thrive. Experience The Ghost Face and The Oni in 2v8, and remember – there's more than enough Survivors to go around.
New Survivor Item: Fog Crystal
Hey, hey, hey. Smoke bombs every day.
This disruptive new Item will be available for the duration of 2v8, allowing Survivors to channel their innermost magician and vanish in a puff of smoke. Or at least, that’s the idea.
Anyone who has used a Void Crystal during previous Halloween Events will feel right at home chucking a Fog Crystal, as they essentially share the same function. If you’ve never held one in your hand and felt that surge of power, of potential, of mischief yet to occur, allow us to walk you through the process.
Essentially, you pick it up and drop it during a chase, creating a massive cloud of smoke that can completely bamboozle not only one – but potentially two Killers. Of course, it’s entirely possible a surge of blind luck seals your fate nonetheless, but that’s up to The Entity to decide.
3 New Maps
The 2v8 Map Pool continues to expand, with 3 new additions arriving for this iteration: Wretched Shop, Shelter Woods, and Torment Creek. These Maps will be appearing at a higher spawn rate.
Free Character Trials
Looking to get a feel for some new characters? For the duration of 2v8, you’ll have access to four free characters: The Oni, The Ghost Face, Yun-Jin Lee, and Gabriel Soma. If you’re new here, we’ve got you covered with a summary of their general vibes.
Killers
First Killer up is The Ghost Face. Easily one of the stealthiest Killers in the game, Ghost Face has likely been the star of several “Dead by Daylight Jump Scare” compilations. Don’t get it twisted though – when the knife comes out, the silence stops.
If The Ghost Face is the calm, The Oni is the storm. An unstoppable juggernaut fuelled by boiling rage and a desire to smash (get your minds out of the gutter), The Oni wastes little time in turning bone to gristle, flesh to pulp.
Survivors
On the Survivor side, first up is Yun-Jin Lee. Among the most morally ambiguous members of the Survivor roster, Yun-Jin's self-serving nature and unparalleled fashion sense make her a unique (and unpredictable) addition to any team.
Next is Gabriel Soma, the crew member that’s been escaping harm since 2098. While he may not understand any of the references his fellow Survivors make, his cool, calm, and calculated demeanour has been the bane of murderous man, woman, and machine alike.
New Outfits & Unlockable Rewards
You never know who – or what – is standing over your shoulder. Arriving alongside 2v8 is the return of Guardians & Shadows, featuring otherworldly new Outfits for The Ghost Face, The Legion, Yun-Jin Lee, and Gabriel Soma.
Beyond what’s coming to the in-game store, there's plenty to unlock simply by participating in 2v8. Complete Game Mode-specific Quests over the course of 2v8’s runtime to unlock an exclusive Ghost Face themed Charm, Badge, and Banner.
Whether you’re playing as The Ghost Face and The Oni or running from them like your life depended on it, this is set to be one hell of a 2v8. And we haven’t even touched on the new Cage animations – but we’ll let you experience those for yourself.
