Another year of Dead by Daylight is about to begin, and we’re thrilled to show you everything we’ve been working on. As you may have seen during our 7th Anniversary Broadcast, there are several exciting Quality of Life updates scheduled to appear in Dead by Daylight as Year 8 progresses.
It’s always nice to provide our players with highly requested updates, and we’d like to emphasize that Quality of Life will always remain an important focal point for our team. Please be mindful that release windows and details are always subject to change, and without further ado – here are all the Quality-of-Life updates announced in the Year 7 Anniversary Broadcast.
LOADOUT SEARCH BAR
Release: End Transmission PTB
Many Dead by Daylight players – especially those who have been with us for multiple years now – have amassed a considerable collection of Perks, Add-Ons, and Items. Who among us hasn’t spent a little too much time digging through multiple pages to assemble the perfect build? Alas, sometimes that process can take a little longer than desired.
We’re pleased to confirm that a loadout search bar is coming to Dead by Daylight alongside the release of the End Transmission Chapter (more on that right here). Type whatever you’re looking for in the loadout search bar – that could be specific Perk/Item/Add-On names, or even something more general like “generator” or “healing – and all relevant results will appear. We hope you enjoy this highly requested feature!
SURVIVOR DISCONNECT BOTS
Projected Release : Summer 2023
We’ve all been there. A Trial gets off to such a promising start. Okay, maybe not quite so promising, but still salvageable...or at least it was, before that one player disconnected. Maybe it was an act of frustration, maybe their pet chewed through the ethernet cable, who knows. Either way, it’s a sure-fire way to have every remaining player shaking their head, pondering what might have been.
Well, those days will soon be coming to an end. In an upcoming update, any Survivor that disconnects during a game will be replaced by an A.I Bot. That bot will appear in the exact state as the disconnected Survivor – for instance, if a Survivor disconnected on a Hook, the Bot would spawn on that same Hook. It’s also worth noting that when this happens, all players will be notified by an audio cue and a tag indicating Bot status.
We hope this upcoming update helps alleviate some of the frustrations caused by mid-game disconnections.
PLAYER CARDS
Project Release: Before End of 2023
We know our players love to showcase their own individual style through Outfits and Charms, and we’re excited to be implementing a brand-new Cosmetic: Player Cards. While designs are still being finalized and we're not ready to get too detailed on this just yet, we expect this to be a fun addition that brings plenty of personality to your profile.
TRUST & SECURITY
It’s important to reiterate the importance of trust, and we’re continuously looking to build, innovate, and improve on that front. This coming year, we’re implementing a hacking and vulnerability reporting system to help identify and address any potential vulnerability found within the game. This system will initially be implemented privately, with our goal ultimately being a public launch.
It’s also key for our players to feel their voices are being heard. At the end of every Trial, players have the option to report other players for in-game offenses like griefing, unsportsmanlike conduct, hacking, and more. While our team is vigilant in reading reports and acting when appropriate, players have expressed frustration that there is no visibility whenever action is taken.
Moving forward, we’re aiming to incorporate an improvement to the Player Report feature, which will inform you whenever an action has been taken against a player you reported. Not only are your reports appreciated, but they’re also actively contributing to a safer game. Look for this specific update to arrive this summer.
